Ice Fishing

Yesturday I went ice fishing with my father in law. The weather was.........well......cold, windy, and well..........thats why they call it ice fishing. These are just a few pics I took.

My something?

Well, well, well, I am finally going to be an uncle. I am so excited. My sister and brother-in-law do not want to know what sex the baby is yet, but I am crossing my fingers for a boy. I am so proud of my family and I can not wait to meet him or her (not to mention spoiling them rotten).

Random Weather

I decided (even though I am definately not a landscape photgrapher) I would put together a series of some random weather from the last couple of weeks.

I just thought I would share a sunrise. I had to be up early to edit a film, and my office is on a hill overlooking the rest of the city. I took this at about 6:45am. It only lasted about five minutes, but it was still nice.

My first wedding Kiss

I thought I would go out on a limb and share my very first wedding photography experience. This picture was a mistake...or almost a mistake. Two good friends of mine gave me the amazing opportunity of having there wedding be my first. I was so excited, and extremely nervous. All of the setup pictures went very well and I was feeling pretty confident in my "talents". I was getting ready to change a role of film during the ceremony, and apparently someone had moved my camera bag. They were getting ready for the big kiss, and all I had was a role of B&W. Not knowing where my bag was, I threw the role in the camera and in a moment of panic, snapped this pic. Random, but true.

The Eye

I do not know what it is about the eye that captures my attention so much. I guess it is handed to human fascination that we are created to look into one another's eyes to see the soul. You can see every emotion in an instant if you pay attention. My wife has beautiful eyes.

Photography to me

People always ask me what I like about photography. To me, photography is an escape. There is something about knowing that every moment passes by and all we have to remember it by is our pictures. I love watching, and waiting for the moments that will go unnoticed, and recording it forever. Some people say that I have a "photojournalistic style" but to me, I dont just want to capture the moment, I want to capture the life. Every single person that I have photographed has there own beauty, and I love to bring that out in them for everyone to see.

I love taking pictures of people, these two are friends of mine. They have a beautiful relationship. Both of them have come through hard times in life, and now found each other. I like this picture of them because I did nothing but watch, and they took care of the rest.

Yesterday

Yesterday was amazing. Tony, and Tawni gave birth to a baby boy named Micah DeYoung. He has both of his parents in him. I have no doubt that he will be brought up to be a man after his father. My hope for him is that he grows up to be like his dad. He is a good looking kid, and I will be proud to watch him grow.

Welcome to the White Orchid Images blog. I wanted to start a blog to show people another side of me. I will be posting thoughts, ideas, goals, new and random pictures.
